Judi Masters Award 2022

RMRA IS HONORED TO PRESENT THE 2022 JUDI MASTERS AWARD TO: JOHN SCHAFFNER

RMRA IS THRILLED TO PRESENT JOHN SCHAFFNER WITH THE JUDi MASTERS AWARD FOR STEADFASTLY ADVOCATING FOR ALL RETT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.


From the moment John’s granddaughter, Martilee, was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, he has dedicated himself to advocating for all families with Rett Syndrome. Known as “Grandpa John” to many within the Rett Clinic, John is always ready with a smile, warm hug and helping hand. John has years of involvement with the Rett Clinic. He has organized fundraisers, mobilized volunteers and dedicated his life to helping those with Rett Syndrome. John was an integral part of the group of families that established the Rett Clinic 10 years ago and continues to support the mission of RMRA.


The legacy of Judi Masters

Judi Masters was an incredible promoter of knowledge and information about Rett Syndrome. She engaged her community in supporting all children with Rett. She made amazing inroads into building this awareness. In fact many past and existing RMRA board of directors and volunteers got involved thanks to Judi’s tireless efforts.

After Judi passed away, RMRA decided to name the award in her honor for her efforts and legacy in promoting awareness and engagement around Rett Syndrome.
