Fun day at the 12th Annual Walk n’ Roll

On Saturday August 13th, the Rocky Mountain Rett Association hosted its signature event, the 12th Annual Walk n’ Roll.

It was a beautiful day in Colorado with blue skies and without the usual blazing August heat. About 250 people participated in the event and many of them strolled around the scenic Lake at Robert Clement Park in Littleton to walk or roll the 3K. Others enjoyed the free carnival games run by the Chatfield Football team! The young athletes also helped with set up and tear down, which was very welcome! A face painter, princess characters and balloon artist entertained the younger kids. Board member John and Roberta Schaffner provided a free chuck wagon lunch. John was also the master of the live auction and seemed to be in his element! Carole Benjamin, Josie Grzywa and Carrie Rose-Matens outdid themselves with organizing the silent auction. What a fantastic selection! A special thanks also goes to the hard working board members – Corinne Magid, Kathleen Reynolds, Celeste Spier and Bob Sharma.

Thank you to all the volunteers and participants who made the 12th Annual Walk n’ Roll a success! Over $26,000 was raised for the Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital and individual donations sponsored 10 children to attend the Rett Clinic.

Thank you to C2Imaging for providing the event banners, Fun Productions for the donation of the carnival games and for the Columbine Courier for featuring the Moore family right before the event.

We would love to have you be part of this fun event in 2017! If you are interested in attending, volunteering, sponsoring, email info@rmrett.org and we’ll keep you posted!
