Rett Clinic Receives Clinical Research Center of Excellence Award
Morrison, CO – The Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado was designated a “Clinical Research Center of Excellence” by Rettsyndrome.org. This dedication recognizes the highest levels of national-level clinical care and research partnership. At the heart of the Clinic is a team of specialists with substantial experience in the diagnostic evaluation, and treatment of individuals with Rett Syndrome and Rett-related disorders of all ages. The staff partners with families and community healthcare providers to deliver care that is comprehensive and appropriate for a family’s individual needs. Physician specialists, nurses, therapists, and care managers all support the individuals’ care management and coordination.
The Rett Clinic at the Children’s Hospital Colorado is unique in the way that it is a streamlined effort of up to 15 providers available to Rett and Rett-related disorder patients in one convenient location. The Rett Clinic has expanded to see new patients every other month and follow up patients monthly. About a 100 patients are seen at the Clinic each year and now an additional 30 patients can be accommodated with the expansion. The Rocky Mountain Rett Association funds the Rett Clinic and a team of volunteers is on site to provide emotional support, information and facilitate the day.
