RMRA receives $15,000 prize money from Reps for Rett team as part of the Do More Charity Challenge

At RMRA’s December board meeting, special guests from the Reps for Rett team Kristen Olson, Jasmine Dever and Scott Olson visited to hand over a check in the amount of $15,000.

The Reps for Rett team consists of six people, three women, three men, who participated in the FRCF Do More Charity Challenge in October 2016 in the name of the Rocky Mountain Rett Association. The Do More Charity Challenge is a Cross Fit Challenge that consists of three parts – fitness, social media outreach and fundraising. Teams are judged in each category and the highest average wins the 1st Place Prize.

Team Reps for Rett achieved 1st place for fundraising with $21,020 going to the Rocky Mountain Rett Association, 2nd place for the fitness component, and 10th place in social media category. Overall the six athletes ended in 3rd place, earning them $15,000 in prize money for the Rocky Mountain Rett Association.

The money will be used to fund the Rett Clinic at the Children’s Hospital in CO. The Rett Clinic was founded in 2011 and is a Rett Center of Excellence. It is a very unique setting where patients have the opportunity to be seen by up to 15 Rett doctors and therapists in one convenient location. More than 1,200 children live in the Rocky Mountain region with Rett Syndrome. Currently, the Rett Clinic can serve less than 100 kids a year. RMRA’s is dedicated to keeping the Clinic open for the future and offer it to more kids.

Please join us in thanking the Reps for Rett team. They have agreed to represent Rocky Mountain Rett Association in the 2017 Do More Charity Challenge. This is a community effort and will need your help to them take 1st Place next year!

Thank you!
